...of games we need to win if we want to (gradually) elevate the program back to its glory days. I'm talking about games that unfolded as 50/50 games (regardless of what the perception was before the game started). I just think no matter who the coach is, or really even what the sport is, at KSU you have to win a large percentage of the games you CAN win if you want to wind up making noise or getting into title games. You do that by being more tough, smart, disciplined, etc.
Now, for the record, I did not in any way expect us to be in that conversation going into this season. So I am not talking about our actual record, expectations, or any of that stuff. I am just saying that when we are in these kinds of games, we need to win them more often than we lose them, and we need to have coaches who either match the staff on the other sideline or give us the slight edge needed to make the difference.
I know this is unpopular, but I am still going to flush this season to a large extent. I'll treat 2021 as Klieman's 2nd season. But it is imperative that we get better consistency and discipline, and that includes the coaches.
