“UT needs rich donors”: Emails show wealthy alumni supporting “Eyes of Texas” threatened to pull donations
Emails obtained by The Texas Tribune show alumni and donors threatened to stop supporting the university financially and demanded that the university president take a stronger stance supporting "The Eyes of Texas."

For as bad as things seemed it at Texas last season, it looks like they were somehow even worse.
Among the many opportunities that Texas boosters took to shower themselves in glory in this story, we get this line from one Texas booster upset that players wouldn’t stand and sing a song for him after a game:
I said it when it happened, Tom Herman was probably going to be fired either way.
His choices were back his players, piss off the boosters and get fired. Or make the players go back out, loose his locker room and then get fired after essentially turning into a lame duck who’s unable to recruit. He chose option A for a bit before trying to salvage his job, but it wasn’t enough. So in the end he got fired and made him self look like an ass on the way out the door.
Good luck Sark. Hope the next job treats you well because I don’t think anyone is ever going to fix this one.
