Jumping gears, a ridiculous story out of the wasteland that is the state of Illinois. The state legislature there has delayed a planned increase in their gas taxes, that are indexed to inflation. The already ridiculously high $0.38 a gallon tax is not going to be raised to the planned $0.40. The hilarious part is that the State Assembly has passed a law FORCING gas stations to put up signage announcing the delay in the increase in order to curry favor with voters and paint it as some kind of legislative achievement. Gas station owners who refuse, are subject to $500 fines, per offense. Count this one in the "$hit you can't make up" category.
