Thoughts on "fluff" pieces

First I want to say great job to the new staff. I'm loving the new site so far and the active posting community. I rarely post, but lurk a lot...too much (and have for a long time). I wanted to share some personal feedback and get thoughts from others about the so called "fluff" pieces.

I'm not at all arguing that D. Scott's writing got to be too long and definitely had too much sap to it. It didn't really bother me, but obviously if you have been keeping up around here, there has been a lot of vocal displeasure about his writing and other "fluff" pieces.

Those types of articles aren't the primary reason why I subscribe (for me the message board is a distant #1), but I would by lying if I said I didn't enjoy reading them. When I heard JMart was coming to run the site, I was excited for many reasons, but one of them is because I remember how good he was at writing actual stories. I know there has been feedback given that people aren't interested in reading features about players with human interest parts and things like that, but I want to request that we still get some of that from JMart. I think he can write enjoyable stories (that don't have to be dripping in kool-aid and ending with a sappy wrap up) that have a place here. Just want to make sure the staff doesn't think that nobody would read it.

Is anyone else that maybe has been silent about this in agreement with me?
