I have paid $240 per month to Time Warner for years for phone/cable/internet. Recently made the switch to AT&T to save a few dollars a month.
When I called to cancel Time Warner last week, they asked my reasoning for cancelling. I went in to a story about how I am moving to a company where I am not forced to pay every month for the Jayhawk network, which is exclusive to Time Warner.
This morning, I received a call from the regional manager of retention. He tried to explain how I am paying less than $1 per month for Jayhawk programming. I told him that it was a stand on principal, and Time Warner is losing out on my $2,900 per year due to their decision to affiliate themselves with KU. This conversation went on for 15 minutes. He shared that others have cancelled for this same reason (mostly in Missouri).
In reality, my reason for leaving had nothing to do with the Jayhawk network, but the feeling I have right now is better than sex.
