So, I have been chastised for criticizing Bruce for not fouling when ahead by 3 in TCU game.
Someone asserted that fouling is NOT statistically the correct move. Some attacked me for judging a season on two plays or for suggesting that Bruce totally sucks (I'm paraphrasing) because of two plays....
First, I did not judge the season, which I applaud, based on two events.

Second, I did not disdain Bruce over the two events. I criticized him for us not having a well thought out plan to score and therefore, beat KU with seconds left and I criticized him for not fouling when up 3 with seconds to play.
It now turns out that coaches WANTED a foul.......but someone asserts that isn't the correct play.....Well, it turns out that the issue has been hotly debated. You will have to do your own Googling but the situation is pretty well analyzed on line. The conclusion of the person who did the analysis was that if there is under 5 seconds left, you SHOULD foul......which brings me to the number of seconds that were on the clock when we DIDN'T foul.....and I couldn't find that information.
But, please understand that I was offering an opinion on the two plays. I don't think Bruce Weber is a basketball coaching god. He is an honest guy who apparently can recruit reasonably well and apparently is respected by his players. Those are admirable and I do not admire a coach who abuses his players, for sure. I disdained the Indiana coach, for example.
Stop attacking me for raising a reasonable point.
