Count me as one of the elder statesman on this site. I believe I have a real perspective on the FB history starting from the Weaver days, but more importantly through the Snyder era. While not earth shaking information, but it's still important to remind everyone is that the recruiting has fallen off dramatically in the last 15 years. Back in the late 90's, we had classes ranked in the top 30 or in some case top 20. Now we're lucky to be in the top 50. Ell was the top QB out of Houston, Bishop was a top 5 athlete out of Blinn, Neck Lecky started as a true freshman and NFL performer. I could go on and on about the top athletes we had. What's happened? Recruiting changed, JUCO recruiting changed, OU came back, Texas is coming back, Coaches changed, what four/five star recruits we did sign were busts, and Coach is much older and nearing retirement. I talked to one recruit we lost to another Big 12 school and that said his son didn't know if Snyder would be at KSU for the duration of his eligibility. the Dad wanted to him to go KSU, but the son said "no". We all know this negative recruiting has gone on for a number of years, but folks it's real.

Zac is right, we need more quality Jimmie's and Joe's in order to compete for championships, I too fear what lies ahead, but as the saying goes, "if you are not growing, you'll fall behind". Other issues are at play within the football program I'd suspect, but tangible evidence is there for all to see (according to recruiting services) that we are not attracting the athletes that Snyder 1.0 attracted.
