Not politics related, but figured I'd share ...
I went to Trump National Golf Club a few days ago. It's in Palos Verdes, just a bit outside of Los Angeles. Of all the courses I've ever played, it's easily top 5. Just an amazing property, with ocean views on every hole. The 18th is incredible. It's pressed against the Pacific coastline, and you hit your tee shot from a 100-foot elevation overlooking everything.
The club was amazing. The lounge was amazing. The service was amazing. Literally everything about the experience was first class all the way.
And yet, we were the only people on the course for the entire round. It took us 3 hours 45 minutes to play, and we saw nobody. I have picture after picture, video after video, of an empty and silent public golf course that is easily top 100 in the US, if not the world, but yet nobody wants to play it.
There were probably 15 workers (all Mexican, hehe) working on the course doing maintenance. There were three valets. There was a starter and a marshall. There was a guy in the pro shop. There were multiple hostesses. There was a bartender and a few waiters. There was a cart girl (a very bored cart girl). They were all at the service of—us.
Because again, we were the only ones there. Parking lot empty. Driving range empty. Golf course empty. Restaurant empty. Pro shop empty. Complete emptiness.
Never seen anything like it. And apparently, per this article, that's how it's been for a few years now.
