I'm not saying he should be afraid of competition. What I am saying is he is facing tough odds there versus the opportunity KSU would give him.
NU signed 5 highly rated OTs last year, and they will sign more this year (and next year). As good as he is, can he and will he be able to beat out every one? If he has pro ambitions, he won't get noticed if he's the 3rd best OT on the squad.
I'm thinking about guys like Whitehead, Finney and Risner. They had the opportunity here and it really helped them get to the next level. I wonder if they would have been burred one the depth chart at NU.
Going to Nebraska takes him out of range of the local media, friends and puts him in strange places like New Jersey, Indiana, Minnesota an other schools a long way away.
