Israel was invited to the Crossroads Invitational that was held this week in Indiana. It featured 80 of the top kids for 2018 (his class) and 45 for 2019. He made the top 24 and got to play in the top 24 game that took place yesterday. Had I been thinking about it I would have shared a link here.
In any case, he had a great game. He hit a shot at the beginning of the game that prompted the announcers to say, "there goes Israel Barnes out of Sunrise Christian in Wichita, KS. He had a remarkable few days here and really raised some eyebrows."
His team ended up losing by about 30. The announcers then had the following conversation:
A: "Now, if we were giving out an MVP for this game who would you pick."
B: "I liked Israel Barnes. He played a great game."
A: "Israel Barnes has to be at the top of any list."
B: "When the game was being hotly contested, you have to look at why that was and Israel Barnes stands out above everyone else."
This kid is in our backyard. I hope Bruce gets to him early, builds a relationship and is convincing. You all should check him out...I will be letting him know personally how great purple looks on him....
