Need to preface this by saying I'm a gigantic sports nerd.. if its a major sports event I somehow find myself interested and invested. I'm a giant sports nerd, to an unhealthy degree...
With that in mind, reading the transcripts of the way Floyd Mayweather has abused women, scarred his children emotionally and in general just appears to be a legitimately horrible person I have absolutely zero excitement or interest in this fight... regardless of the outcome, an abusive selfish sociopath will walk away with over 160 million dollars. I know boxing in general is gasping for air and this is a great opportunity with two of its real stars but I just have no interest in this event.
Am I alone here?
How do those of you excited about the event reconcile who this dude is and the fact that regardless of who you root for by watching you're financially rewarding him? I'm not saying that critically, I'm really asking. I want to be interested and as excited as everyone else but this dude is just a terrible person and I cant get past it...
