I've gone ahead and updated the guest list for this weekend. Reported a week or two ago that there would be two offensive lineman visiting for the West Virginia game. That remains correct, but the names have changed.

Breontae Matthews was always going to be on his official this weekend and still will. You can read more about him here.

Originally, I thought the other lineman would be Paul Ramirez. However, speaking with Paul last night, he says head coach Bill Snyder made the decision to push his official back into January.

Now, instead of Ramirez, K-State will bring in Abdul Beecham this weekend to join Matthews. Beecham, who received an offer on November 18, is a 6'4"-310 lb. lineman from Blinn CC.

Moral of the story: K-State knows they have some quality young depth up front heading into next year, but they need more, especially mature depth. I think all of the guys they're targeting can play guard and/or tackle too, so there's plenty of versatility. My guess is they want two more with Matthews and Beecham atop the list. Then, should we slide into January and only one or maybe neither of those two have announced, they'll bring in Ramirez to assure themselves of landing at least one. They do not want to miss out on lineman again (ie: 2014).

My gut instinct says they'll get Beecham. He's a Texas kid, graduated from Judson High, so it's a move that makes sense for his background. Plus he doesn't have a ton of other major interest outside of Iowa State. With Matthews, this weekend is big. When we spoke last, sounds like the west coast has really grown on him even though he's originally from the east coast. That makes me think his late trip to Arizona State could be a killer for K-State, but we'll see. Either way, I think K-State can get Beecham and either Matthews or Ramirez to couple with Gaynor, giving them a pretty solid haul up front to pair with some emerging freshman from 2015.
