According to this tweet, freshman guard Anna Hammaker suffered a knee injury in Monday's practice. I'm told she was diving for a ball in practice, landed on her knee, and split the kneecap in half. There is, "no kneecap right now."
I'm still trying to confirm if this means she won't play in the NCAA Tournament. Since I'm not any good at anything in terms of medical problems/science, maybe I'm way off here, but I would not expect to see her play in the NCAA Tournament.
Hammaker averages 4 minutes and 1.3 points per game, so there is no real loss in terms of scoring. But she did get some minutes towards the end of each game this year, so depending on recovery time, this might be something to be on the lookout for next season.
