before heading into the bye week and the Big 12 schedule.

This game gives Bill and the staff glaring weaknesses to work on and concentrate on.

This team needed a gut check game because every game from here on out will take their best effort. Even against the bottom teams (except ku) I have a feeling we are going to have a lot of games that come down to the last possession or two.

Here is how I see the rest of the year playing out
  • I think we will lose the next two (@ Okie Light, TCU)
  • We will pull out a gutsy win at home against OU
  • Texas is just a mess but their QB is picking up steam, they will be a dangerous team when we come to visit if we are not careful, but their defense is atrocious and I think we will win by 10 in Austin
  • I just can't see us going toe to toe with Baylor thus I am prepared for a loss at home to the Bears
  • We will then win 3 of 4 out of @ T-Tech, Iowa State, @Kansas, West Virginia - I am confident with wins against Iowa State and Kansas but I think there is a loss coming against either Tech or WV.
So this would put us at 8-4 on the season. I think 7-5 is a possibility as well. I am prepared for that kind of season. Gonna have to take it in stride.

Our biggest hope is game to game improvement - with Hubener becoming more confident, Silmon getting more snaps, and our defense playing solid and assignment sound.

Just my opinion. Hoping for the best, but ready for the some bumps the rest of this season.
