Except for two missed assignments, we shut down the leading Heisman candidate. Our offense broke in a new QB, offensive line and, yet, had plenty of opportunities but failed to connect. Ertz waited too long to throw the ball. This offense will be light years different as the season goes on. The fact is we beat the odds and national expectations. No reasonable person should have expected us to win last night.
The only fans that are delusional about the outcome are our fans. Look at UT (Tennessee). They are ranked 9th and have a senior laden team and almost lost at home to a non power 5 team. Teams across the country will have issues their first game. Get a grip.
