A day late. Maybe I should keep it a dollar short to help appease the people that don't like to come on here and read essays...

I guess I need to start this off by saying that I was wrong. The Cats have officially moved past the number that I thought was the ceiling coming into the season. I thought 12-6 was the ceiling. December was simply brutal, but January and February have been incredibly fun and rewarding and this is way better than the alternative.

Almost 200 voters had K-State at 13-5 or 14-4. That's pretty damn good.

This should be a very fun week. Everybody gets to root for OU to play their best game of the season tonight and then root for them to play their worst game of the season on Saturday. But no matter what happens from here on out, considering that this team was 0-2 and dead in the water against West Virginia, this season has been a resounding success.

One of the many discussions that I started/was involved in at the beginning of the season and even into December was that this needed to be THE season for Bruce Weber. Everything was set up for him. He had all his own players and a core group that had been starters since they were freshmen that are now four year starters and very good players. If it wasn't going to be this year, when would it be? As we turned from December to January, I think a very good argument could have been (and was) made that Bruce deserved to be fired at the end of the season if things continued the way they were going. @MRAcat had the discussion on multiple occassions.

Obviously, that is not the case. Bruce got the ship corrected and here he is in his 7th season with his team poised to win his second Big 12 Championship. Build him a damn statue and put it right in front of CEOBS.

The Polls:

The Coaches Poll has K-State at 17, the AP Poll has them at 18. Those two polls would have K-State currently on the 5 line. The NET has K-State at 27. That would have K-State currently on the 7 line. KPI has K-State at 14 and would have them on the 4 line currently. What all this means, we have absolutely no idea. Just win Saturday and let the rest of that stuff sort it self out. There will be plenty of time for righteous indignation starting a week from Sunday. I do believe this though. Keep winning and moving up in the AP poll and the seed line will continue to improve.

Now lets get to the results and the team.

TCU's floor is awful and as I get older and my eyes get worse, I find it harder and harder to actually be able to see the TCU players in their white uniform. The US Military couldn't come up with better camouflage than those dudes have.

I think this could actually be Jamie Dixon's worst coaching job ever. That TCU team is talented. They have good players at literally every position but the game is so one on one for them that they go through some awful stretches and then he makes some awful decisions personnel wise and it continues to cost them games.

Jay Williams brought it up in the post game last night and I could not have agreed more. I was astounded that with 2 minutes left and down by single digits, they decided not to foul or use timeouts to try and extend the game. It was simply brutal coaching. You could tell when Williams brought it up to Seth Greenburg that it made Greenburg really uncomfortable. He and Dixon are friends from way back and you could tell that he didn't want to openly criticize him.
