As shared yesterday, those tied in on the Kansas State side of things were not expressing much confidence in landing Brad Underwood anymore, and part of that was just a belief that he was not going to budge on what they deemed a very good offer.
At the same time, my best Brad Underwood sources were not sharing that same sentiment. They were not claiming it to be unlikely or anything of the sort. Just that Underwood was focused on the NCAA Tournament and decide afterwards.
Nothing has really changed other than Illinois winning their opening round game versus Chattanooga. That is where timing could come into play. If they were to defeat Houston on Sunday, if they hold true to their timeline of not necessarily discussing the opening and he weren't to make a decision until the season is over, that would put Kansas State in a real bind.
I fail to see how Gene Taylor and the Wildcats would wait that long without some very good assurances.
