I do not worry so much about stars. It is nice to be sitting this early in the process with 4 DL already in tow and none appear likely to jump ship. If you have followed recruiting in the past then the dearth of bodies on the defensive line in our recruiting class is a cause for concern. Ill take the 4 we have and hope to add more guys with stars later.

The same for the OL. While folks would like to christian Charlie Dickey as some sort of miracle worker the lack of development of our HS guys is cause of concern. I like the group we have. Seems to have talent and commitment.

Having said all of this I will have to agree with the Star counters on one thing for sure. We need some studs (4, 5stars, bluechips, whatever you want to call them) sprinkled in these classes.

It surprises me that some young stud back out there does not sign with us over the years. HCBS has shown he will feed a good back the rock, he will live and breathe off of a great back i.e. Darren Sproles and Daniel Thomas.

I like this classes start. It is a very strong foundational class. But yes, we need to get a few more Starred stars in this group. We cannot rely on HCBS genius to make every 2 star a 4 star. It actually doesnt happen the majority of the time.

But the fact remains that we need to really stretch ourselves out there for some special players each year. I know that most will name all the unstarred players we have had in the HCBS era, but the most talented are the ones (especially on offense) that have been recruited by many schools (and quite a bit come from the JC ranks).
