Sunday I lost my only brother. He was only 71 & I will miss him dearly. I stayed home from work today and I'm in total shock. Looking back I feel like there were so many things I should have done to be a better brother, but none the same I know he loved me and I loved him. I thank God I got to see him and give him a big hug when I traveled to Kansas for Memorial Day Weekend.
Today I've never felt more mortal in my life. I feel like a piece of my life was taken away from me, that will be a major void before it comes time for my turn. I guess this just hurts more, because I was closer to him than my parents in our childhood. My mind is like an old fashion flash camera taking a flash of photos as we've lived all these years. I will be 68 later this year. Somehow everything won't be the same. We actually didn't live close to each other, but the moments we did have meant the world to me. May you be at peace Ron. Hopefully we will see each other again.
Although Ron went to Emporia when it was Kansas State Teachers College his favorite team for college basketball was KU, but his favorite college football team was Kansas State & a big fan of Bill Snyder. And as for Kansas City, the Royals just lost their biggest fan and loyal supporter.
