Okay I get it that we aren't killing everybody in Basketball, but darn it can't we at least be happy that we got a win on the road for a change? It's not all gloom and doom. Despite the bad season last year Weber's staff recruited a bunch of inexperienced players and transfers, and walk-ons to our school. We have some bigs that could be very good players redshirting on the team, and the Weber staff of coaches are recruiting some good players to our school for next season. A season where these young players will have a years experience under their belts and will grow and mature more with off season training.
Does anybody recall this team did knock off the number one ranked team in the land? Under Weber we shared the Big 12 title. I know Weber only recruited some of them, but they won with his staff. Okay they lost a couple they should have won after beating Oklahoma, but inexperienced players at this level are going to make mistakes and have bad days.
If our players are reading what is constantly being written on this website and on this forum, how would you expect them to be up when so many are questioning their abilities and calling for the removal of the very coaches that brought them here? How would you feel? Do you feel like the Alumni on here are supporting the team like the students in the stands? I couldn't believe I had much support if I visited this forum if I were them. Do you think all this negativity is helping our recruiting for football or basketball? You are a fool my friend if you think this constant negativity helps recruiting. You are planting seeds of doubts in recruits and their families checking up on K-State when we are recruiting them.
Even Fitz and his staff have to take a look on the dark side when we get a much needed road win. Hey let's pick that win apart! We could have lost that game and instead we won it. Man that's bad! Heck, I'm thinking the majority would have been happier to see TCU walk out the winner! I don't understand it. If you love KSU why do you want our team to fail? So you can get some other coach in here that doesn't have as good a record as the coach we have? Will you delight in his failure too? I think this staff is trying to build a team and if given some time with the way they are recruiting. it will get much better in a year, maybe two. Not even LHCBS killed it every season. There are rebuilding years. We have gotten rid of the toxic element on the basketball team a season ago, but you can't expect to start over and do it in one season with so many new faces on the team.
It doesn't end with Basketball. You guys want to force LHCBS to step down. You want to remove John Currie who has dug this University out of a deep hole that Coach Prince and the old athletic director left K-State in. Currie has built us a great stadium with the help of LHCBS and the success Snyder has brought in 24 years at the helm. New buildings are popping up all over the University and we are becoming a big time university. We passed KU in enrollment to become the State's largest University in enrollment. Think about how that came about before you condemn the people making it all work. Wabash is a perfect name for this forum because of the constant bashing. Gratitude seems in short supply around here. Dance with the ones that brought you.
