We returned quite a bit of experience with the trio of Warner, Knowles, and Brooks.
Kade Warner (Grad Student) - 37 games played and 16 starts at K-State and Nebraska. Played in every game for us last season.
Malik Knowles (Senior) - 37 games played and 29 starts at K-State. K-State's #2 WR last season in receptions and yards. All Big 12 honoree.
Phillip Brooks (Senior) - 39 games played and 16 starts at K-State. He was #1 WR last season in receptions and yards. All Big 12 return man.
We then went out in the off season and acquired two more experienced wide receivers.
Jadon Jackson (Senior) - Played in 22 games with 4 starts in three seasons at Ole Miss.
Erik Pizarro (Senior) - Played in 32 games with 24 starts at FCS Lamar University. He was their #1 receiver in receptions and yards last season.
We also have a couple of other players on the roster like Keenan Garber and RJ Garcia that we also expect to compete for touches/spots.
We will have a new offensive coordinator this season but I still don't expect us to have more than 3 WRs on the field very often. The 3rd WR will continue to compete for snaps with additional TEs, FBs, and RBs. What is to be expected from these Grad Transfer WRs? Were they brought in just for one year of depth, if so what does that say about our young players? Are they expected to take significant snaps/touches from Brooks and Knowles? Kade Warner returned for a Grad Season and has prior experience playing with Martinez, will his role increase this season?
