All,
I have few platforms, but this is one so I’m going to try to use it for something good.
I’ve worked closely for years with the Kansas Family Stroke Foundation, located right here in Manhattan and founded by my dear friends (and long-time K-State supporters) Chuck and Deb Schram. They would smother me in my sleep if they knew I dropped their name, but I digress.
The foundation supports Stroke survivors right here in NE Kansas, with the annual crescendo being a camp each fall at Rock Springs 4H south of Junction City. Here is a clip from KSNT chronicling the impact of the camp from before the pandemic.
At any rate, it’s a grassroots organization with most fundraising dollars coming from a few annual in-person events that have been derailed by the pandemic due to the vulnerability of the population we serve. This year, we’re raffling off a nice selection of bourbon that includes Elmer T. Lee, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Blantons, Weller Antique 107, and consolation prizes of Eagle Rare. There’s also a 50/50 for those who aren’t the bourbon type.
For those inclined, the LINK TO THE RAFFLE is here and we’d sure appreciate anyone willing to give it a look before Rivals decides I’m in violation of their non-solication policy 😁
