Learned another bit of information tonight in the form of a potential transfer to keep an eye on.
Although it's a relationship in the very early stages, I'm told there's mutual interest being expressed between the Wildcats and Cal athlete Cedric Dozier.
A former four-star prospect in the class of 2012 and Army All-American, Dozier announced on Dec. 30 that he intends to transfer from Cal after graduating this spring with plans to play elsewhere in 2016. The transfer confirmed this along with interest in the Wildcats tonight by telling me, "Yes, right now I'm considering Kansas State as a transfer option".
During a redshirt year his opening season at Cal, the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder converted from slot wide receiver to cornerback. Since then, he's played 35 games, starting 16, and logged 80 career tackles with 9 passes defended. I believe he'll have two years of eligibility left on his clock.
Expect Mike Cox to handle the majority of this process, however long it continues, as Dozier is a native of Washington and a player Cox is familiar with from his time on the Huskies staff from 2009-2011.
For added reference, Dozier's major is sociology.
