curious what their roster for the 2022 season looked like. Covid season allowances account for a great deal of this but here is the breakdown of their 107- man roster on their official website as of today
Super Seniors - 11 (I think this is the only way they are patching together an offensive and defensive lines for this season)
Redshirt Seniors - 10
Seniors - 3
Redshirt Juniors - 11
Juniors - 10
Redshirt Sophomores - 24 (this is not a typo!)
Sophomore - 7
Redshirt Freshmen - 14
Freshmen - 17
Clearly this is combination of scholarship players and walk-ons, don't know what their total scholarship numbers are. You could say judging from their roster they are putting a 'veteran' team on the field this season (24 seniors, 21 juniors, 24 redshirt sophomores) If LL is going to make a 'statement' that they are getting better, you would think it would need to come with a line-up with this many veterans. They can't say they are 'young' and re-building!
