When it came to inviting Baylor, Texas politics was front & center in making them come to the Big 12. Baylor doesn't really bring anything to the table now that they're under extreme scrutiny nationally & they really just hurt the conference at this point. If UT would be ok with kicking them out in favor of staying at 10 schools, then would UT & OU be ok with kicking WVU out as well & inviting Zona & ASU?
WVU is out there on an island all by themselves. We can all agree that inviting TCU instead of Louisville was a huge mistake. If Louisville had been invited, then that would help give WVU a little bit of a geographical friend in this conference.
However if the Big 12 were to expand to 12 & could get the Zona schools to leave the Pac 12, then geographically, this conference would be a complete MESS!!! But if the conference wanted to stay at 10, then I would think that the Zona schools could/would at least be able to provide as much financially to this conference as Baylor & WVU. It would be easier travelling to the Zona schools as compared to Morgantown.
Just some random thoughts
