The gals played an uneven game against a stiff defense and won going away. Our crowd was small, but loud at times. Monday with Drake's rather large crowd gone we're faced with Stanford which didn't play anywhere up to their potential today. And that ridiculous mascot....whatever it is or was.
Even though the crowd wasn't nearly as large as regular game there was always a long line at the popcorn counter....I waited 5 minutes for another batch after standing in line halftime for 10 minutes. I suspect the planners didn't plan on even that big a crowd. Lots of grumbling around the line.
But come on staff: Our gals are the last ones standing. Monday is really the last game at home for our seniors. We really need to show their coach and team that they are wanted. Get that automated dialer calling at least the season tkt holders with something special. Subsidize a few tickets, you'll make it up on popcorn. Get some ads on the radio tmw and Monday. Tuesday is not a school day for most of the crowd. Work out some promotion to make sure that this doesn't look like some high school crowd...ends empty and both sides with lots of space.
