In my opinion, whenever you become nervous about the future of the Big 12, take solace in knowing OU and UT's egos won't let you down. Clearly, it will help if OU and/or UT make the playoffs in the next few years, but ultimately, it will come down to their egos because money won't be an issue. All you need to do is look at what has happened to UNL, MU and CU. They have for lack of a better term, been neutered. No one in the B1G pays attention to UNL or cares about its tradition outside of those living in the state of Nebraska. The irony is that UNL was upset because it was second fiddle to UT in the Big 12, but now UNL is eating at the kid's table while all the big boys make all the decisions.

As for Mizzou and CU, they are both trash and have become irrelevant absent what you see on the cable news channels. Living in SEC country, I can tell you know one gives a crap about MU. They are the Baylor of the SEC absent the competitive sports.

Recruiting and championships will come for UT when they finally get a great coach (Herman, etc.). OU hasn't been the same since Mikey took over the defense and OU lost its recruiting edge when BV left for Clemson. As is the case in Alabama, OSU, Michigan, etc., coaches win championships in college football. They were all significantly down when they had mediocre coaches. The Big 12 is not hindering UT or OU. They will never have it easier than how they have it now and they know it.
