He was reliving the last relevant year of Illinois basketball (2004-05) and talked about the three-headed monster at guard: Dee Brown, Deron Williams, and Luther Head. What made that team click was the fact that all three of those guards were point guards in some way. In Bruce's system, every guard needs to have point guard attributes. Since that year, Illinois and now Kansas State hasn't had 3 point guards that could rotate positions like that. I hope that with Bruce recruiting more guards now, they're coming towards that style again. Of course, for optimal performance, top 25, 50, and 100 guards like those guys would be nice for the Cats.
