In the video he says...
  • He says he talks to K-State everyday. Says Kansas and Oklahoma are also recruiting him hard.
  • Brings up how Shane Southwell is best friends with his cousin Thomas Gipson, both guys played with each other at kstate not long ago and is the reason Shane and Griffen already have a great relationship. Said “it would be great to go there and follow in his (Thomas’) footsteps”
  • This Big 12 intrigues Griffen since it’s close to home.
  • Said he he for sure talks to kstate the most right now. He loves that the conversations with Shane and the staff aren’t always about basketball. They talk about things going on in the world and NBA and just regular stuff like that which he appreciate.
  • He said getting the KU offer was crazy. It let him know just how good he is. Sounds like KU wants him as a PG.
  • He brought up Trae Young and Buddy Heild when talking about what he likes about OU. Said the way they coached those guys showed him that Kruger really lets his players play.
  • Differences in the three schools he brought up how KU has some of the best fans in the country. OU he likes how they get guards to the next level. Said KU gets a lot of guards and bigs to the next level. And added KState gets a lot of wings to the next level.
  • He brought up Rodney McGruder and how he’s in the playoffs right now and Wesley Iwudnu on the Magic. He said that they talk about how they could develop him into being even better than those guys.
  • A team that hasn’t offered yet but hits him up a lot is Memphis. Said they and coach Topper show him a bunch of film. He sends him nba film with how to help his skill set. Specifically Devin Booker and Luka Doncic.
  • Memphis talked to him specifically about getting him to the next level and less about winning a national championship. Said that was eye opening to him.
  • Had high praise for Penny Hardaway
  • Talked about how mich fun it is to play with another kstate recruit in Cason Wallace. They play on the same high school team. He said they play really well together. He’s known Cason since 3rd grade playing against each other till they teamed up in 7th grade.
  • He said him and Cason “both like Kansas State a lot.” Said it would be great to team up with him in college.
