This conversation has taken to many different extremes, whether it's K-State is super awesome in everything or HCBW kills.. yet, i think the discussion is really in the middle.

HCBW, despite his many numerous faults (and he does have many) in regards to program building, can coach.... and can coach quite well... the big IF with HCBW is not what his system can do, but if he can get buy-in.... He's made stars out of a fat 3-star former center (foster), a PG who lacks elite athleticism (angel), and created effective scoring mismatches with a 6 4 PF also without athleticism (nino) and a 6 4 skinny PF in Shane.

So... are more 3-stars a bad thing? possibly... but scoring has come from random places before... and if players believe and buy-in, the system will create shots. Now, for some quick takes on the moves
  1. Losing the team-cancer should improve everybody.. as much as we hate seeing football players leaving the program, its quite clear that part of the LCHBS magic is to never let team cancers have a chance
  2. Losing the pass-first PG will improve the offense. the system doesn't need a pass-first PG, as the system creates shots.. a scoring PG should drastically improve the PPP (points per possession)
  3. In conference play, Fosters was 21-85 on 3's (25%)... Edwards was 15-44 (34%) while being our best 2-way player
  4. Brown and Wade....

It is not hard for this team to repeat last years record, but with a completely different process... and one that points back up.... but the bottom line.. this maybe isn't the auto-last place team many assume it is

and if it doesn't... may have some nice pieces for the next guy in Brown and Wade
