A new meme is arising around the fairy tale that Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett all lied during their confirmation hearings. I would love to see the clip of them saying they would not overturn Roe. Most of the clips I have seen show them acknowledging that Roe was SC precedent and judges are bound to follow precedent. This is not a lie, it is a fact. However, SC justices are not bound to follow precedent and overrule precedent almost every year. Most of the major cases we celebrate overruled bad precedent. Judges are not supposed to say how they will rule in advance and nothing the three Trump justices said committed them to rule in any given way. However tortured the questions posed by senators may have been, not a single one was asked a question that elicited a lie.
