Looking at buying some walnut from a friend. He just harvested a 200+ year old walnut that was storm damaged. he has some 21" book matched 2" thick slabs that are up to 12' long. I would like to make a dining room table that I could hand down someday. Just havent figured out how I can handle that size. Probably going to have to source the planing to a commercial cabinet shop. I have a pretty nice 15" carbide head planer but never thought I would trip across this size of wood.
