Very interesting. Doesn't sound like he wanted this. He thought was "dead on the vine" several months ago.....and came together out of the blue a couple days ago. Was kept out of the loop (and he's one of three main owners).
Said he is SURE his name came up during negotiations.....apparently KU thinking KK is too negative towards KU. Said his show has lost KU advertisers over the years and not sure if they'll come back now....but he doesn't care. He's old school. If basketball players are being knuckleheads, then he's going to be critical. If they want him to change, they'll have to fire him, etc.....
And, said if KU thinks they're getting a cheerleader from 2-6 pm out of this agreement, think again.
He's not sure what happens to KSU rights. Goal is to maintain them. Close to a deal on a station with outstanding coverage when there's a conflict. Said it's amazing how rare they play at same time. So, sounds like they still might be on 810.
