Jayhawks Set to Host Wildcats for 119th Edition of the Dillons Sunflower Showdown

The Kansas Jayhawks kick off the month of November by welcoming the Kansas State Wildcats to David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium for the 119th edition of the Dillons Sunflower Showdown on Saturday, November 6. Kickoff is slated for 11 a.m. on FS1. The radio broadcast of the game can be heard on the Jayhawk Sports Network and through the Kansas Athletics Mobile App.

Tailgating on Campanile Hill will begin at 8:00 a.m. The Hawk Zone, featuring inflatable games, bag toss, face painters, balloon artists and more will open at 9:00 a.m. Fans are encouraged to welcome the team during Hawk Walk at 8:45 a.m. on the south end of the stadium.

Two A-10 Warthogs from the 303rd Fighter Squadron out of Whiteman Air Force Base, piloted by KU alumni, are set to fly over the stadium after the national anthem.

REENTRY PERMITTED VS. KANSAS STATE

In an effort to enhance the game day experience and alleviate fan congestion inside David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, Kansas Athletics is temporarily instituting the reentry policy for halftime of Saturday’s game vs. Kansas State. Any ticketed patron wanting to take advantage of this and exit the stadium will be permitted to do so at the beginning of halftime and return before the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Fans that do elect to leave the stadium and return must have their hand stamped by a CSI staff member prior to exiting. In order to reenter the stadium, fans must show their stamp as well as present their game ticket before proceeding through the security screening process and allowed back into Memorial Stadium.

STADIUM AREA TRAFFIC UPDATE

Kansas Athletics has received information from the City of Lawrence that traffic calming devices are being installed in the Old West Lawrence neighborhood north of the stadium as part of the Neighborhood Traffic Management Pilot Program.

Fans planning to arrive at the stadium from the north are encouraged to read full City of Lawrence press release.
