Basketball recruiting Update mostly on future targets

At the moment it’s still unclear what targets are being seriously considered for the final scholarship if any are. I think the staff would prefer a grad transfer if they take anyone at all so they can have 2 scholarships for the class of 2021.

2021 targets

CJ Noland

I doubt this takes too long for the Wildcats to secure. CJ’s dad Belvis Noland played for the Wildcat in the early 90s, met his wife, and now CJ has a chance to continue the legacy and carve out his own story, if he chooses kstate. Right now the Cats are his best offer but even if other high major programs come in the fold it will be hard for this Rivals150 member to be swayed too much in my opinion. He hopes to makes his college decision before his senior season begins.

After CJ there are a number of suitors K-State could turn to. The Wildcats have a number of young bigs currently on the roster so in theory they can focus more heavily on another guard or wing to compliment CJ.

Aminu Mohammed
It is going to be extremely hard to bag Mohammed for most every school as the 12th best player in the class but the Cats were able to get him on campus in the past. It’s unclear how Muhommed’s recruitment has evolved and where the feeling on where his head is at.

His legal guardian and handler is Shawn Harmon, the father of 2021 PG Zion Harmon. It was thought before Harmon’s commitment to Western Kentucky that his favorite would be Maryland, the state he grew up in. That did make some think Mohammed may join Harmon to Maryland. That does give me more hope for kstate than what used to be perceived. Still a lot of time left in his recruitment and other schools could make a move on the highly rated dude.

Noland and Mohommed are highest priority for the class. After that you have a number of names that could come into play:

2022 targets

Rylan Griffen

The biggest priority in this class is without a doubt Rylan Griffen. They really want Big Gip’s cousin and for good reason. KU just offered him and the offer sheet will continue to grow with two more high school years left. The Wildcats will not back down on this challenge.

Tarris Reed
Another challenge will be Tarris Reed our go STL but the Wildcats may look at him as the big man first priority regardless of class at the moment. He will get better and offer sheet will grow but the Cats been in on him early but have yet to get him out for a visit. He has seem other campuses, the Cats will hope to get him on campus whenever that is made available.
