First, the conclusion

Mess must be fired.

Now, the reasoning.

The offense is a nightmare. It's been discussed, but there are bad calls from coaches, mistakes by coaches, and basically at no time is any player being put into a position to succeed. It's just a symphony of errors.

There are mistakes from the 20k view... asking will and Malik to execute a deep passing attack... and every time there's a new mistake.

1. The first one that hit Malik in the hands was a bad route run by Malik. He drifts so far inwards he overran the ball.

2. A different one was actually a good play but Jax misses the block and will can't rush the throw so leaves it short.

3. A 4 verticals play has Brooks avoid contact and get pushed so far outside it brings his defender into the picture to break up the pass to Garber (and will misses the safety on the other side moves up and leaves a wide open player for a td so he can throw into double coverage for Garber with Brooks dude there)

A different play worth mentioning was the final play on the first drive before the FG.
1. The OL almost assuredly calls the wrong protection (noah?)
2. Deuce covers the wrong blitz. Line shifts left, Deuce also looks left for a Blitzer. Somebody missed, badly. We assume Oline because numbers probably dictated the oline shifting right.
3. It was a slow developing route against a blitz with what didn't look like any hot route
4. Will is late to Howell and misses a td, let alone a first down.

Finally, there are just so many mistakes. The system just doesn't work. When you run this older system, you need pristine execution. They are not even getting close. It's one thing if the system was great for recruiting, but it's not that.

In the end, it's hard to see anybody really in charge of this offense. I didn't even get into wrs dogging routes like crazy either. It's the complete opposite of the defense. Despite Saturdays struggles, the defense plays with pride. The offense plays like they have no confidence in themselves, in their teammates, or in their coaches
