What does last weeks game really change??

As bad as it was, what has really changed in the big picture? KSU should be favored in every game here out with the possible exception of the flood aggies at Ames. What KSU lost was the ability to throw away a game in which it would be favored and still make the Pepper in Arlington.
The OSU game is massive. Win and they once again will be in the drivers seat come November for Arlington. The loser is eliminated from the Championship game with two losses and no tie breakers.
The only thing that has changed for KSU is that they will likely need to win in Arlington (or have a lot of help nationally) to make the CFP. A 2 loss Big 12 team will likely not make the CFP.

...and Kansans keep electing him?

From the KC Star:
ST. JOHN, KAN. On the side of a dirt road in western Kansas stands a locked metal gate flanked by a mailbox and two no-trespassing signs. A quarter-mile past the gate, obscured from the road by trees and terrain, sits a 1,120-square-foot cabin with a small patio that looks out onto a fishing pond.

This is where Sen. Roger Marshall calls home. Some 1,500 miles away in Sarasota, Florida, the Kansas Republican keeps a much larger and more expensive house that includes a boat dock on a bayou and is only a short walk away from Sarasota Bay.

At 1,949 square feet, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom house is valued at $1.2 million, more than eight times the appraised value of the cabin and surrounding land near St. John in Stafford County.
