Looking at 2023 football

Grade is based on confidence in the corps coming back.

QB: All set with 3 stellar guys in the corps. A
RB: Giddens will be the horse. Jackson backup. Ward? B for now.
WR: Great corps without Malik. Brooks, Garcia, Jadon Jackson, Lockett, Spivey. B+
TE: Sinnett returns. A
Oline: Will be elite led by Beebe. A

DLine: Got the Miss State transfer but lose a lot. Matlack will step up big. Duke apparently returning. Didn’t know. A question Mark. C+
LB: Daniel returning is MONSTER. Kirksey will play right away along with Forsha and Clifton. I assume Moore and Allen gone. A
DBs: along with DLine the other big question mark. VJ Payne and Savage at safety will be lockdown. CBs huge question mark. Will Lee will play/start right away at CB. Parrish and Omar Daniels. B-

Houston basketball and Net Rankings

I’m excluding their loss today, which I’m know will hurt then.

I have questions for someone who follows the college basketball computers. Why was Houston #1 in the computer rankings? They’ve only played two ranked teams. They beat Virginia and lost to Alabama. That’s it. The rest of their schedule is awful. Even the computers acknowledge they have 9 quad 4 wins.

I can’t fathom how they’re ahead of the other top teams with 1-3 losses in the computers that have way more Quad 1 and 2 wins.

I understand real people voting them #1 based on the players they had coming back from last year and the “eye test”. If voters think they’re really good, then that’s fine. I’m baffled by the computers.

I know we used to have posters here who had researched all the computers and knew their differences. Is there still anyone who can explain Net? I know the committee switched to using it over RPI a few years ago.
