We are 12-1 for the only the 5th time since they started playing a basketball championship at the end of the season (1939). The other 4 times we have been here the seasons have wound up pretty darn well:
2009-10: 29-8, Elite Eight
1958-59: 25-2, Elite Eight
1957-58: 22-5, Final Four
1947-48: 22-6, Final Four
This season is not likely to be like any of those, but we are well on our way to having a successful year. It is time to start believing. The Big 12 is going to be strong, but so are we. We did not have our best game tonight but we kept fighting. Our guards were ice cold tonight (Brown, Stokes, Ervin, and Patrick combined to go 4-23 from the field), but we still found a way to pull out a victory. We were clutch down the stretch from the line and Wade and Iwundu carried us the rest of the way.
