Last night, doing some recreational drugs and going through terrible television last night, I came across some PAC coverage and it reminded me, the PAC 12 GOR's expires in the summer of 23, right? That's only 5.5 years away and maybe shorter til we see some serious realignment shit.
Continuing through .500 football over the next few years, and possibly the same or worse with Bill and/or Sean could be a recipe for disaster over the next 3-5 years for K-States national rep. And possibly major trouble for the long term future.
Right now/over the next few months, is the perfect time to go in on a new coach. Bring some excitement back to everyone including the donors that spent their money on the WSC/Vanier to improve this program. Also, this fanbase will cream itself if something exciting happens, as it appears it's just sitting in the shadows dormant right now, ready to explode. Hell, go big with a coach and possibly announce a south end zone renovation (not expansion) that could be completed over the next 3-4 years, if fundraising is there. Possibly a recruiting boost and simply an overall rejuvenated program at an important time.
This is a great opportunity to move forward to set up the school/AD for the future. Just sitting around and letting Bill/this staff continue to do what they're doing could be bad bad news in 6-8 years, and beyond.
Or was I just a little too high?
