Here is the Scenario-
I took my new, 2014, ATV in for maintenance (well actually my son did). He tells me no questions were asked of him other than a contact phone #. The bide had never been to this particular shop before and its not where I bought it. While at the repair shop it was stolen. I get a call from the owner telling me it was stolen. I call my insurance company (I did have a separate policy on the ATV), and they file a claim with the repair shops insurance. This is where it gets "fishy".... I read in the paper that the police report filed by the repair shop reported the ATV as a 2006. The shop filed a police report. The shop also gave the police a vin # that was not the vin # off my ATV. I'm thinking inside job. Now I'm having trouble getting the police report changed. BTW I had no input on the police report at all. Had I not read it in the paper I would have not know about the inconsistencies in the report. Obviously the reimbursement from the shop's insurance will be predicated on the year of the bike. Advise?? Yes I have paperwork on the bike proving its a 2014 but the report has already been filed.
