Kruger - Hartman set him up, was his coach in waiting, and then Kruger basically said screw this and left. I am not sure exactly why? Did I hear somebody allude to something happening with Kruger at K State that got his moving on in motion or did he just decided to go? Doesn't matter I suppose, he has had more jobs since leaving, save Larry Brown which to me.....
He has turned into the Larry Brown of K State, save the cheating. No Blame to K State Admin on this one.
Altman - I don't think was ever given the opportunity he should have been given, however, let's not drop the idea that he really cut his teeth at a mid major in Creighton, before moving on to Oregon and he simply isn't even close to the guy he was at K State so early in his career. But K State Admin deserves some blame for moving on him so quick. It may have saved us the Woolrdige and Asbury years. And the total domination by ku over that time span.
Huggins - very unfortunate his alma mater opened up. Not saying he retires at K State but I think he is here for a decent run. No blame to K State on this one. \
Martin - Absolutely had to gain better control of himself on the bench (which he has at S.Car.) but was showing that he could coach multiple tourneys and an elite 8 run. Absolutely blame K State on this one, and I lay it at the feet of Schulz and Currie, many different ways to handle his behaviour, they just want to cut bait and run from him. I sincerely believe would still be here today if Currie and Schulz handle it differently (The videos posted earlier today I had never seen, were very telling, especially when Currie was questioned about the receipt, Schulz was squirming as well, very easy to see)
So of the 4 who now have gone on to the final four after being at K State there are only 2 I lay at the feet of University, Kruger, sorry to say, gave K State the finger and moved on, and Huggins was looking for his last coaching gig and his alma mater opened up. both out of the University's control, the other 2 however were not. And in all honesty, I don't think Altman would still be here today, he would have moved on from here by now, either because of some poor seasons strung together or possibly something else he preferred came along, Martin should still be here, but who knows if he has a final 4 by now.
