FYI, I did submit another FOIA for an annual term appointment for Bill Snyder that's not available publicly with his contract. I got one returned to me today, and it is interesting.
It does include this wording ...
"This appointment ends on JANUARY 31, 2018. It is understood that this appointment carries with it no expectation of continuing employment other than as varied by the parties, in writing, and no consideration for tenure, and that the standards for notice of non-reappointment do not apply."
The bolding and underlining is not put in by me for emphasis, but instead how it appears in the contract.
I still believe what our sources in the AD tell us (that the initial contract will roll-over if none is agreed to by this date), but it is difficult to ignore that specific wording is continually included in these contracts to ensure it's legally clear that nothing is binding beyond Jan. 31, 2018.
