Attendance: where did they go?

Last night during the game and afterwards in the wrap-ups, blogs, articles etc. all indications were that Phillips Arena was packed solid with Kentucky fans. Not an empty seat in the house, so it went. This morning I'm on the ESPN website and in the game stats it lists attendance at 15,616 and capacity at 19,445. That's 80%, nearly 4000 people below a sell-out. How could that be? Lexington was only a three hour drive away, so what happened to the vaunted Big Blue Nation fans who didn't evenb bother to show up?
