Beaches in Georgia

We are traveling to Atlanta to see some friends for the first time. Lifetime Kansan's and would like to take our three kids to the beach for the first time. I know there are awesome ones that are not as famous as FLA. Does anyone have experience in visiting that area? Looking just to drive down from Atlanta and stay for 3 nights as close to the beach.... reply or email if you have ideas... much appreciated!
