KU RB coach Reggie Mitchell is joining Bielema's staff at Arkansas. Same titles and responsibilities but probably gets a raise. Mitchell has consistently been KU's top recruiter for the past several years (he's 55 and got his start at KU under Mason...has spent 15 years at KU since 1988). And even in the midst of their total ineptitude on he field in recent years, they have often had decent production from the RB position under his guidance.

He didn't have one specific recruiting area...they would send him wherever they needed him, which this year included efforts in the northeast and down in Florida...but he did seem to focus somewhat on Missouri and St. Louis in particular. He was generally responsible for recruiting his own position, too. Kirby said that Mitchell was taking on the KC area as well after the earlier departure of LB coach Kevin Kane who had KC for them this past year. So they lost their KC guy when Kane left and now they've lost the guy who had started to step in and line KC area recruits up for junior days and such.

Their #2 recruiter in this class was DL coach Calvin Thibodeaux, former player at Oklahoma. He's rumored to be a top candidate to fill the newly vacant DL position at OU.
