I used the revised Rivals team ranking formulas to evaluate the recruiting classes of the Big 12 over the past three years. I used the top 60 commits for each school over the 3 year period. Rivals uses 20 per class in the team rankings.
OU - 5775 points (31 - 4 star+ / 29 - 3 star)
Texas - 5655 points (26 - 4 star+ / 34 - 3 star)
TCU - 4635 points (7 - 4 star+ / 47 - 3 star / 6 - 2 star)
Baylor - 4605 points (14 - 4 star+ / 39 - 3 star / 7 - 2 star)
OK St - 4470 points (6 - 4 star+ / 47 - 3 star / 7 - 2 star)
WVU - 4395 points (8 - 4 star+ / 44 - 3 star / 8 - 2 star)
TX Tech - 4320 points (6 - 4star+ / 48 - 3 star / 6 - 2 star)
KSU - 3840 points (5 - 4star+ / 33 - 3 star / 22 - 2 star)
ISU - 3540 (1 - 4 star+ / 32 - 3 star / 26 - 2 star)
KU - 3330 (1 - 4 star+ / 26 - 3 star / 33 - 2 star)
I thought it was interesting that what separates the middle of the pack schools from Kansas State was not as much success at the top, but instead depth in the middle. We take significantly more two star recruits then these other schools. My theory on this is that it is significantly influenced by our greyshirt program and a lack of abundant three stars in our home state. Anyways, I thought it was worth sharing.
