I wonder what the revenue numbers would be if the Big XII expanded from 10, to not 12, but 14?
Poor ol' West Virginia needs some dancing partners.
What if - Cincinnati, UConn, Temple and Navy were extended offers? These 4 schools would bring a LOT of TVs to the conference and would give WVU a nice set of geographical rivals. This would bring in Boston, NYC, Philly, Balt, not to mention Navy having a national following.
Another possibility, maybe instead of either Temple or Navy would be Memphis.
It seems the focus is to get to 12 universities. The Big XII consistently has been a follower and not a leader when it comes to expansion and planning for the future. The only exception was when the Big 8 universities were pro-active and invited the 4 Texas schools to form the Big 12. Ever since then the leadership of the Big 12 has failed us.
