Co-worker of mine is personal friends with a former K-State LB from early 90's who played with BV at K-State. This former LB and BV still talk regularly and even spend spring break together each year.
He sent a text to my co-worker who specifically asked him about BV to KSU.
Here is his text back from said source in a nutshell on BV to KSU.
BV to KSU = NO
-Doesn't want to follow Snyder
-NO ties to KS anymore
-Both his parents have passed
-His wife is from KC but she loves the south
Best bet at a HC job for BV if he wants one is Florida due to ties to Laird Veatch who is in Athletic department at UF.
Said source said best bet for K-State on next hire is Jim Leavitt who he played for and obviously wants the job. He said he is hearing from inside K-State there is NOT much interest in the job due to no one wanting to follow Snyder. Its a no win situation as they will always be compared to him no matter what and Snyder will be looking over their shoulder for as long as he is alive.
Sorry to bring bad news and I would rate this source as an A minus.
With all the talk of BV to KSU I figured I would at least share what I was told. Don't rip me apart. I want BV to KSU more than anything and I was bummed when I got this. Still holding out hope that maybe BV can't resist the pull from KSU donors and alum. We shall see. Just sharing what I was told.
