What a moronic thing to even float. You choose to take out loans when you go to college, you choose a major, you have every ability to see the amount of loans and the salary you are headed towards, but then you need the government to bail you out? You know how many of my FB friends didn't go to college, work a couple of jobs, and are still not doing well financially? Let's give 50k to a kid with a History of Film degree because they "didn't know" what they were getting into, but give a fraction of that to a working family that can't fill their prescriptions, what a ****ing joke. I don't need government assistance, if the government gives me over 10k for the loan balance I still owe, when I am fine financially, that's such a misallocation.

I have always been a proponent of making tuition and student loans fully tax deductible to help with the burden, but canceling them outright is going to lead to more dumbasses taking stupid majors that won't make money and then expecting government handouts, while people that work shit hours for shit pay get nothing.

Started a twitter war on accident this morning, the amount of whining people that said they didn't have a choice about student loans need to learn some things about personal responsibility. Student loans are no more predatory than payday loans or shitty 1000 dollar used car dealers where you end up paying double the price when predatory loans come in because you have shit credit. These whining kids about their loan burden, which they had 1000x more information on than other types of predatory loans, need to sack up and understand they put themselves in this situation. ****ing ridiculous.
